<p>Agentic payments is a team that’s building new APIs and integration experiences for agentic commerce online. We think that the proliferation of consumer-facing AI experiences will unlock new ways that consumers buy things online, and our existing payments experiences need to evolve to new commercial models that cutting-edge builders are starting. Our first launch, Instant Checkout in collaboration with OpenAI, took the industry by storm and we’re bringing experiences like that to the entire universe of AI agents and sellers.</p>
<h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2>
<p>As an Engineering Manager on Agentic Commerce, you’ll own the shaping and delivery of transformative products that redefine how commerce works, making it more fluid, automated, and aligned with user intent. You’ll collaborate closely with product management, design, data science, and marketing to unlock new opportunities for our customers and partners globally.</p>
<p>Our north star provides a new integration model for AI agents who are looking to build agent-powered online commerce experiences, via their Stripe integration. They will have access to our entire suite of connected sellers, and can focus on the end-user experience. Enabling an AI agent to do this requires new API primitives, new dashboard surfaces, and deep thought about what financial and e-commerce complexity Stripe can simplify on their behalf. </p>
<h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong>.</h3>
<ul>
<li>Build full stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including back end services, dashboard interfaces, money movement systems, and integrations with other Stripe primitives</li>
<li>Partner deeply with product management and design to ship high impact features that increase user autonomy and reduce friction.</li>
<li>Apply strong analytical skills to dive into data, test hypotheses, and make informed trade-offs. Set success metrics for the team to ensure solutions are enterprise-grade and quickly meet Stripe’s reliability SLOs.</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally across Stripe’s broader platform and product teams to integrate agentic commerce capabilities seamlessly.</li>
<li>Engage directly with users (particularly large enterprises) to understand their business needs and translate requirements into novel product shapes.</li>

<h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of engineering experience with a computer science background with hands on development expertise</li>
<li>AI-native and very comfortable autonomously solving problems with agentic AI tools</li>
<li>Proven experience coaching and developing senior and staff level individual contributors</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience of leading initiatives that touch large engineering organizations, spanning multiple teams to influence tech roadmap planning and execution</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, structuring ambiguous concepts clearly and from first principles</li>
<li>Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts</li>
<li>Deep empathy for users balancing autonomy and guidance in digital commerce experiences.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of engineering management experience</li>
<li>Experience building APIs or new integration experiences for users, several of them being enterprise grade</li>
<li>You’ve been on the founding team of a business / startup, taking a product from 0-1</li>
<li>Experience in eCommerce and/or payments.</li>
