THE ROLE:As a Systems Engineer, you will lead high-impact teams to develop world-class computing products, including consoles, wearables, portables, and a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies. You will drive product excellence by guiding teams through complex technical challenges, working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and system architecture. With broad responsibilities and direct accountability to the Product VP, you will play a key role in defining and executing strategies that push the boundaries of computing performance and efficiency. THE PERSON:A seasoned engineering leader with a passion for silicon product delivery and a deep understanding of system, silicon, and firmware. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and excel at solving technical challenges while aligning teams to business priorities. Your ability to drive innovation, lead cross-functional collaboration, and execute with precision will be instrumental in shaping the future of computing technology. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead Post-Silicon execution for semi-custom SOCs, End-to-EndFace to the Customer for System EngineeringWork with cross organization teams to ensure Silicon/SW/Platform/etc. features are in sync, development is supported, and validation is plannedSet technical direction for the test activities, including bring up of silicon & boardsIssue triage, prioritization, and root-cause resolution plansOwner for System specification that includes:Platforms definitions: Validation, test, and reference platformsCovers all system features to be validatedTest requirements for all system featuresSystem test plans that includeFunctions within Silicon IP, Bios, Firmware, Drivers, Silicon, IO subsystems, power/performance, thermal, OS certificationCross-functional groups (Performance, Power, and Manufacturing etc.)External and Customer co-validation teamsPlatform configurations – system BOM definition, component selectionSign-off responsibility for Synchronized releases for internal and external deliveryCPU, chipset, boards, options, peripherals, OS, BIOS, driversTest execution and debug leadership across AMDAssure that all responsibilities are clearly defined across all relevant and participating organizations PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:10+ years of experienceExcellent communication and leadership skillsPrior experience with client PC and/or server system design and validationMicroprocessor bring-up and debugPrior experience with testing tools and environments, defect tracking and revision controlKnowledge of Computer Architecture concepts and silicon development Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, virtualization software (VMware, Ubuntu, et al), and validation/certification processes for each of these environmentsExperience with system component compatibility and stress testingFamiliar with power/performance optimization and tradeoffs MS Office & MS Project tool suitesFamiliar with scripting languages and programming (Python/Ruby etc.) ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferredLOCATION:Shanghai #LI-VC1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
