Incorporated as a partnership firm, Modern Chemicals was started by two brothers Mr. Rajeshwar Prasad and Late Mr. Ram Avtar to engage in the production of Lime, Limestone, Coal, Paints and Chemicals. In 2002, another partnership firm by the same name was incorporated by their sons in Delhi for trading in Crude oil products. Subsequently, both these firms were merged in 2003 with all five promoters becoming equal partners and the earlier business of lime and limestone was shut down. In 2007, the partnership was reconstituted with the three brothers Vinod Kumar, Arvind Kumar and Kapil Kumar becoming equal shareholders in Modern Chemicals.
